Dissemination Conference of COST Strategic Workshop series 2010-2011

The aim of the COST Strategic Workshop series 2010-2011 is to carry out a wide-angle foresight exercise on the future demand for multiple forest-based products and services. The project combines expert workshops and a collection of data and perceptions by means of internet-based tools.

The final conference is an event held under the patronage of the Polish EU Presidency. It will present results of the workshop series and provide an insight in the state-of-the-art of recent foresight and futures-oriented exercises carried out in the forest-based sector. Furthermore, the needs and ideas for new foresight exercises will be discussed. Back to back with the conference there will be a workshop about foresight in and for forest strategies together with forest strategy experts and practitioners in Poland.

Target group
The event will provide a forum to 120 to 130 participants including representatives from academia, public administration, interest groups and civil society organisations both within the forest sector and parallel sectors. The conference is an upon-invitation-only event.

Programme overview
The programme will feature keynote speakers that present the forest Remember, the poker and s4gambling.com night is Saturday, October 19, 2013. sector futures orientations in a wider societal and global perspective, providing experience on foresight exercises carried out in the forest sector and related other sectors, as well as short presentations of the new activities planned in the field of forest-based sector foresight. Call for proposals: Short presentations about new foresight initiatives
Session III of the conference programme is dedicated to follow-up ideas regarding foresight in and for the forest-based sector. An open call for short presentations of new foresight initiatives has been launched. A maximum of five presentations (á 5 min.) will be invited to the conference. Selection of the presentations will be made based on 1-page summaries.
