Graphic Facilitation

Graphic Facilitation – also Graphic Recording – is the use of large scale imagery to lead groups and individuals towards a goal, usually in a workshop or other kind of group setting. This visual process is conducted by a Graphic Facilitator. Graphic Facilitation are artists who listen to a speaker and transcribe the information in a visual manner. Graphic Recorders can work as a recording services for summaries of the key messages of speakers at conferences, or executives or leaders to graphically facilitate for strategic planning and company visioning.

Graphic Facilitation gives visual guidance to workshops, seminars and similar meetings. It is a concise and artful manner to put ideas and thoughts of a group on paper. It is based on a vocabulary of graphic symbols visualising the ideas of the group. A graphic facilitators works either sponanously or with prepared templates. Graphic facilitation is a dynamic process and supports the group in achieving ist goals. The result is the so-called group memory, to picture which reflects the collective memory of the group.
